Classes​ & Levels

Please note that ages listed are a guide only. Dancers will be placed by ability at the discretion of the instructors. 

Not all classes offered at this time. Please let us know if you are interested in a class that is not on the schedule. We will accommodate four or more into a new class.

No drop-ins.

Ballet - We are proud to include the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 9 level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. 

Music & Motion - Pre-ballet                               
Ages 3-6.  No previous training. Emphasis is on music appreciation, creative movement and joy in dancing. 


Ballet - Primary
Ages 5-7. Basic ballet technique with little or no prior training. Preballet recommended. Emphasis on natural alignment and placement.

Ballet - Level 1

Ages 8-10. Focus on posture and maintaining placement. Some basic theory introduced.



Ballet - Level 2
Ages 9-11.  Beginner/Intermediate. 2-3 years prior training. Two classes/week recommended. More vocabulary and theory, adding in more technique.

 

Ballet - Level 3
Ages 10-15. Intermediate. 3-4 years prior training. Two classes/week required. Three classes/week recommended. Pointe preparation and pointe. 

Ballet 4
By audition. Three technique classes/week required, four recommended.

Ballet 5

By audition. Emphasis on pointe. Four to six technique classes/week required.



Teen Ballet 1-2
Ages 10+.  Basic technique with little or no prior training required.

Adult Ballet

Basic technique with little or no prior training required. Traditional ballet attire not required, comfy clothes and ballet slippers are fine.

Pointe 1 & Pre-Pointe

Ages 11+. Three ballet technique classes minimum requirement.

Pointe 2 

Ages 13+. Four technique classes minimum requirement. Invitation only.



Contemporary

Contemporary 1 

Ages 9 and up. At least one ballet class per week required.

Contemporary 2-3

Ages 12 and up. At least two ballet classes per week required.

PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique) - 

A unique course designed by professional dancer and RAD instructor Marie Walton-Mahon with a team of physiotherapists to enhance  muscular training. The low-impact class focuses on creating strong muscle memory to assist in executing ballet movements safely and strongly by marrying together elements of floor barre, Pilates, and ballet. This class is great for students looking to improve their muscle stability, turn out range, and body awareness. Equipment needed, please contact us for the list.

Conditioning

Sunrise Stretch & Strength

Half an hour, four times a week, of floor work focusing on core, muscle awareness and some stretch. This course will be taught online only via Zoom. Please contact us if interested. 

Jazz

Adult Jazz 

Age 16 and up. No prior dance required. One ballet class per week required for teens, recommended for adults.

Jazz 2

Jazz for the intermediate/advanced student. Two ballet classes per week required, at least 3 years of previous dance study required.

Hip Hop

 

Hip Hop Kids!

Ages 6-10. No prior dance experience required.

 

Hip Hop 1
Ages 8 and up. 2-3 years of dance training required.

Hip Hop 1-2, Teen

Ages 10+. No prior dance experience required for those 12 and up. Ages 10-11, with permission.

Hip Hop 3

Ages 12+. 2 years prior dance required. This class is 90 minutes with half conditioning and half technique.

Hip Hop Adult

No prior dance experience required.

Tap

Tap 1-2

Ages  7-10. No prior dance training required.

Adult Tap

No prior training necessary.
